Guest Rooms

Every room at Anchorage 1770 offers a varied and unique experience. While some offer 4 poster beds, waterfront views, and high ceilings, others offer stunning bay windows, original Adams Mantels and detailed plasterwork from the late 1800s. For those desiring that extra bit of privacy, the new cottage is a romantic option.

Waterfront

Anchorage 1770 features four waterfront rooms with beautiful views of the Beaufort River on the Intercostal Waterway of the Atlantic Ocean. The two rooms on the 3rd-floor offer 13-foot ceilings adjacent to the covered piazza. The two 4th floor rooms have what most consider “the best view in Beaufort” adjacent to the open-air deck.

Water View

All the rooms at the rear of the house have large bay windows spanning approximately 15 feet. Most of these rooms have water views with beds featured in the bay. Ornate plaster relief work with extensive wood molding are the architectural features of these rooms.

Garden View

The ground floor rooms offer a bit more rustic feel. Located in the half-basement of the main house, they feature exposed timbers in the ceiling from the late 1700s. Stained concrete and dual-head rain showers give these rooms a modern interpretation of the colonial era.

The Cottage

The cottage features two individual suites offering guest the privacy for a romantic getaway. The first floor suite has a king bed and cozy seating area in front of a gas fireplace. It also has French Doors leading to a private patio.  The top floor suite also has a gas fireplace and a balcony for 2 with a bistro table that is perfect for enjoying breakfast on a lazy morning.
